1. Who we are
FireCompliance Pro ("we", "us") operates this website and the FireCompliance Pro platform, a compliance management service for UK fire safety contractors. FireCompliance Pro is a trading name of A. Blackwell, a sole trader, who is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Address: 4th Floor, 14 Museum Place, Cardiff, CF10 3BH. Contact for anything in this policy: hello@firecompliancepro.com.
2. What we collect, and why
| Data | When | Why we use it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anything you include when you email us (e.g. a demo request) | When you contact us | To reply and deal with your enquiry. | Legitimate interests (responding to you) |
| Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages requested, in short-lived hosting logs | Automatically when you visit | Keeping the site running, secure and protected against abuse. We do not use it to identify or profile you. | Legitimate interests (security and service operation) |
This website has no forms and asks you for nothing. When you start a free trial you leave this website for the platform, and what you give us there is covered by the Platform Privacy Notice (see section 8). We do not collect any special category data through this website, and this website is not directed at children.
3. Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary ones are always on and don't require consent. Everything else (analytics and advertising) is off by default and only runs if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner shown when you first visit. You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page.
| Category | What | Purpose | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | A single cookie recording your cookie-banner choice | Remembers your preference so we don't ask again on every visit | Always on |
| Analytics | Google Analytics (GA4) | Understand how visitors use this site, so we can improve it | Off until you accept |
| Visit counting | Vercel Web Analytics | Counts page views and where visits come from, with no cookies and nothing that identifies you | Always on (no cookie) |
| Advertising | Google Ads conversion tracking | Measure whether an ad led someone to start a free trial or become a paying customer, so we know which (if any) ads are worth running. If you then sign up, we tell Google Ads only its own ad-click reference, what happened (trial or subscription), when, and the first payment amount; never your name or email. We do not use this to build advertising profiles of you elsewhere. | Off until you accept |
We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google only processes analytics or advertising data about your visit once you've actively accepted. If you decline, or don't respond, no analytics or advertising cookie is set and no identifiable tracking data reaches Google. Declining does not stop you using the site.
4. Service providers
We use a small number of service providers ("processors") to run this site:
- Vercel: website hosting and delivery, which generates the technical logs described above, and anonymous, cookie-free visit counting (Web Analytics).
- Google Fonts: this site loads its typeface from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of serving the font file.
- Google Analytics & Google Ads: analytics and advertising measurement, described in section 3, only active if you accept cookies.
Where a provider processes data outside the UK/EEA (Vercel is a US company; Google operates globally), transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and, where applicable, the UK–US Data Bridge.
5. How long we keep it
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Hosting logs: retained briefly by our hosting provider and rotated automatically.
6. Who we share it with
Nobody, beyond the processors listed above acting on our instructions: no data sales, no "partners", and no advertising network other than Google Ads, which receives only the ad-click conversion report described in section 3, and only if you accept cookies. We would disclose data if legally required to do so.
7. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it if it's wrong;
- have it erased ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to our processing of it;
- receive a copy in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email hello@firecompliancepro.com. We'll respond within one month.
8. The FireCompliance Pro platform
This policy covers this website, the public marketing pages. The platform itself (signing up for a trial, and the contractor, engineer and client portals) is covered by its own documents:
- Platform Privacy Notice: what we do with personal data where we decide how it is used: account holders, billing, security and support.
- Data Processing Agreement: the Article 28 terms covering data a contractor enters about their own staff and clients, where the contractor is the controller and we act only on their instructions.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update this page and its effective date.
